Our Sustainability Pledge

A COMMITMENT TO MATERIAL INTEGRITY

At MAKETTE, sustainability begins with precision, in material choice, in construction, in scale. Every leather we use is certified by the Leather Working Group, ensuring responsible sourcing and low-impact tanning processes. Our hardware meets REACH compliance, designed with both longevity and skin sensitivity in mind.

We build with intention, not excess. Each piece is modular and adaptable, part of a system that resists obsolescence. Our collections are developed in limited volumes and refined over time using customer insights, adapting styles and silhouettes to real-life use, not fleeting trends.

We work only with trusted partners: family-run factories, certified tanneries, and specialist suppliers who meet high environmental and ethical standards. Every decision — from material selection to hardware detailing, from edge finishing to lining — is shaped by a commitment to traceability and transparency. Nothing is incidental.

LESS, BUT BETTER

We don’t chase seasons. MAKETTE was created to move differently, to step outside of trend cycles and design what endures. This pace gives us room to refine, to question, and to release only when the object meets our highest criteria for form, function, and relevance. Even our packaging reflects this ethos: plastic-free, minimal, and meant to be reused or recycled. We keep only what matters — clean design, protective structure, and a focus on experience, with nothing superfluous.

Sustainability, to us, is a discipline. It’s not static. It evolves with new materials, better tools, deeper accountability. MAKETTE isn’t trying to be perfect. It’s trying to be exacting. Every piece is a step toward something more responsible, more resilient, more considered.
